Bludgeoned by Bosses
I think my boss is trying to kill me... at both jobs. In my day job I was just informed that I will be writing four business proposals in the next two weeks. Remember how I said one usually takes me about two weeks to do one? Well, the one I received today is due on frikken Friday. Yeah, as in I have two days in which to do it. The next two are due next Friday, and the last one I have no idea what it's due except "soonish". I hope to get a more specific due date tomorrow *fingers crossed* This means I've been asked to come in to work a few extra days for the next three weeks (because i'll also be covering for the gallery admin's holiday), which is great for my pocket book but not so great for my other job.
For my freelance developmental editing, I have just been assigned a couple more manuscripts. Well, the company calls it freelance but I'm basically a satellite editor --on staff but not in the office and paid via residuals. Ordinarily I would be overjoyed with the additional assignments if it were not for the fact that one of them is nearly 100,000 words long and due in three weeks... on top of the other two manuscripts that I have due this and next month (aka five weeks). I now have ten ms to edit --which means a minimum two rounds of revisions and formatting-- in the next six months.
Obviously I will have to revise my schedule for the next month, crossing out any social activities/events I planned to attend, and basically work around the clock. I've done this before, working two jobs that made my day go from 6:30am until 11pm and never wanted to do it again... go figure that I'm in that position again. I really cannot comprehend how other people work two to three jobs, let alone do so and still manage to have a semblance of a social life.

Ouch. Best of luck, hope you get through it with all your sanity intact.
I once worked three part-time jobs. Waiting tables in the morning, at a museum in the afternoon, and on a delivery truck overnight. I still had a social life... it works great if you just go into work drunk and never sleep.
Needless to say, that didn't last very long.
