Birthdays Past

Yesterday was my birthday, yAy!
While searching out photos of past birthdays, I came across a list that I used to do every year but seemed to have forgotten at some point. I decided to bring it back to do again this year.
This year's favorites...

Food: McD's french fries, Kraft Dinner, chocolate
Game: procrastination

Ice cream: Strawberry

Movie: I am Number Four, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2

Occupation: Content Editor, copyeditor
Place: Wherever I'm with with friends... or the bookstore with gift cards in hand.
Quiet time: Reading or writing or crocheting
Rebellion: Going back to school
Shoes: ankle booties (that I don't yet have!)
Things to do: helping people with their writing

Winter sport: ice skating
Xanadu-dream: Have a boyfriend by next spring
Year: This past school year was pretty great!
Z-word: zephr, zenithHere are the photos of birthdays past! Erm, and some without photos...
My 1st Birthday in 1983

I have no idea why, but I decided to hide under my high chair. But then, I always did like getting into, on, under stuff due to curiosity. Cuz you never know how things will look from another angle ;0)
My 22nd Birthday in 2005

I had an idea when going to high school prom and we stopped at the McD's drive-thru: What if a bunch of people went into the fast food chain wearing prom dresses? So when planning a birthday party for myself I decided to do just that! Afterward we went back to Sunnie's (the girl trying to point out I was trying to take a picture) to play a party game she just learned before heading out to the bar for some dancing. By then most of us girls had changed into pants and tops, but the boys still looked fine in their suits. This was also the first time I received flowers from a boy, let alone two at once, as the twins bought me a bouquet as a prezzie which included my fave of daisies.

We decided that all wars should be fought with these "weapons of mass destruction".
My 23rd Birthday in 2006
I planned a teaparty, but was having a pretty bad day because I got all these last minute messages saying friends couldn't make it after all. I started to think that maybe there was a surprise party planned that everyone would be at and this was part of the trick, but that thought eventually faded as the day passed on alone. Thankfully Dawlz and Kika's parents needed some things picked up from town, so the sisters decided to run the errand and stop by to see me. They stayed for a couple hours and I got my teaparty after all :0)
My 24th Birthday in 2007

We are at Copperfields for karaoke! I believe it is probably Sunnie is taking the photo, some friends from work had already left by this point, and Buttercup was there but working. Also, the next day Trick took me to the movies to see "I am Legend", some other work friends were supposed to show but didn't in hope of pushing me and Trik together even though I have a "rule" of not dating coworkers.

This is me pretending to be surprised at my present since I was actually with mum when she bought me the winter boots. Considering I had to try them on and pick em out, it makes sense right? *L0L* Since I was just loafing around the house during the day, I was only dressed in my favourite trackies.
My 25th Birthday in 2008

This is me at work the day before my birthday. I wanted to do something outlandish but still follow the weekend dress code, so i put on a tutu, leg warmers, and ballet flats. A friend thought i looked adorable and took my picture, so thanks to her you get to see me looking ridiculous.

Mum took me to see "Four Christmases" and I had next to no sleep. I was either out really late at the bar (if we went the night prior), or insomnia was being evil. I went out to the bar with some friends at some point, though I have no idea which night or who all even went! After the movie was cake and ice cream. That year I think mum also got me some money from Ireland and the exchange rate cost more than the actual money did *wince*
My 26th Birthday in 2009

This year all my excitement was reserved for The Nutcracker, which I was helpingout with since i was working at the ballet school. It was beyond crazy for everyone getting ready for the performances, and I had no energy left over. On my birthday, as it was a Sunday, we went to church and I wore my white prom dress (i spent $200 on it, i'm going to use it!). After lunch I had planned a kiddie-themed party, but had been too busy to actually get games like pin-the-tail or even decorations. What friends who made it ended up playing Balderdash and it was a pretty fun and funny time. I sent everyone home by dinner which I had with the parentals at Swiss Chalet, and then barely made it back to the church for christmas caroling. Apparently they changed the meet-up time and announced it at church that morning before i got there and no one thought to tell me.
My 27th Birthday at home in 2010
I was feeling pretty sick this birthday, and I had to cancel my birthday plans. I am fairly certain I invited a few friends over to hang out and watch movies, but I canceled that to stay in bed after running errands with Dad. He took me to visit Papa and Dona to get my prezzie from them, then we went to the mall to look into cell phones which was going to be my birthday prezzie once I chose... which didn't happen until the following summer! On Chritmas eve I was feeling better so mum and i went to see Harry Potter DH1, and -after the holidays but before i went back to school- Manni and Cyndi came over for a belated "celebration" and we watched movies.
My 28th Birthday at home in 2011

Every year since mum decorates the dining room with streamers, sometimes balloons, and our "year" picture. These pictures are of something we liked that year -sometimes computer generated, sometimes hand drawn, sometimes a copy of a photograph. There are about eighteen of these pictures (I guess she skipped some years or combined them together) and this year was a picture of me at my college graduation. You can kind of see it attached to the right side of the window frame with the little black square, which is actually my grad picture (there is also my uni grad pic on the far bottom right).

Me with my eight-candled cake and the new scarf I got from Nanny K (my bff's grandmother) for birthday-christmas.

Happy Birthday!
And what a great Idea for a post!
Hope you had an awesome day yesterday...and I hope you're friends and family don't try to pull the combined presents trick, demand both Birthday and Christmas presents!
hehe
@BFB1131 - My parents always got me separate prezzies, but grandparents or aunts always did the combined thing when I was younger. Now I'm lucky if they remember I have a birthday and email me *L0L*
